Notes on Snider

We've made a little progress on the Snider line in the past several months:

• 1. Identifying the family listing of Jackson R. Snider as Anderson Russell Snider, verified through on- line genealogies and census records. In one census, he reports his name as Andrew Snider, so he may have had a nickname of Andrew Jackson, resulting in family records listing him as Jackson Snider.

• 2. Identifying the wife of Anderson Snider as Francis Williams

• 3. Identifying Anderson Snider's father as John H. Snider of Tennessee, and finding a listing of Anderson's siblings.

• 4. Finding the ancestors of Elnora (Ella) Howell

We've added a new section in the Adams-Hastings binder for the Howell line, with interesting comments on the family. The main researcher, Robert Howell, indicates a picture exists of Elnora Howell and Jacob Adams, and also pictures of Elnora's ancestors. The last comments, and e-mail address, for Robert Howell are in 2001, and I have been unable to locate him. I have posted several queries to the Howell genealogy forums seeking information on his whereabouts.

What's left to do is find Robert Howell or his descendants, and keep looking for John Snyder's ancestors.
