From great grandson -
The father of Harriet Ogden Squires was the first judge of El Dorado County. His portrait
hangs in the County Courthouse in Placerville. I believe he died in Yountville.
From J. Mason -I did find Ogden Squires in El Dorado County in 1860, but
not 1870. In 1860 he was O. Squires, 28, Deputy County Clerk, b. NY,
and married to A. M. Squires, 17 also born NY. No children.

A native of California 84 years. Services Sat., Feb. 8 at 2:00 p.m. at
the Darling, Fischer, Garden Chapel, 471 E. Santa Clara St., San Jose,
under the auspices of Friendship Lodge No. 210 F & AM.
Fred Farris
Rites will be held today for Fred O. Farris, 84, retired longtime well
driller, who died Thursday after a brief illness in a Santa Clara rest
home. Farris lived at 1081 Bird Ave. He was born in Lower Lake,
Calif. and came to San Jose in 1910. He was a well driller 30 years.
He was a member of Friendship Lodge 210, F&AM, and Scottish Rite Bodies
of San Jose.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; a son, Francis Farris of San Jose; two
daughters, Mrs Leatha Carson of Vacaville and Mrs. Mabel Haile of Santa
Clara; six grandchildren, and a brother and a sister. Rites will be
held at 2 p.m. in the Datling-Fischer Garden Chapel under auspices of
Friendship Lodge 210, F&AM. Interment will be in Oak Hill Memorial Park.

From grandson -
Mary Klaine's maiden name was Broad and I believe she was born in
Galena, Illinois. Frank (or possibly Francis) Klaine, Mary's husband,
may have been born in New Jersey. His parents, I believe, came from the
Alsace. He fought in the Union Army, I believe in a Illinois regiment.
Prior to moving to San Jose, the Klaines live in Tuscarora and Virginia
City, Nevada.

KEENA FUNERAL IS SET FOR TOMORROW Services To Be Held At Hislop Chapel
Friday at 2:30 P.M. Funeral services for James Keena, 74, who died at
the Highland hospital Wednesday, will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30
p.m. at Hislop's Chapel of the Hills in Auburn. The remains will be
interred in the family plot at Odd Fellows cemetary.
Keena was a member of a pioneer family. He was born in Placer county,
and lived here throughout his life. Surviving him are the widow, Mrs.
Mabel Keena, and two daughters, ___. He was an uncle of ___ and a
brother of the late Charles Keena, sheriff of Placer county just after
the turn of the century. Keena made his home in Rock Creek, where he
engaged in stockraising. He was well and favorably known throughout
the county, Stockton, California.

Ronald Farris Trent (Trethowan) born in Sacramento California, March 30, 1937. Ron
the son of a British immigrant father and a mother who’s ancestry dates to the
Mayflower was taken from us 12:45 pm August 9, 2004. Ron is survived by his loving
wife ___, his sister ___, his sons ___, Stepdaughter ___, Stepson ___, and
Grandchildren "Affectionately known by them as Grandpa Popeye," as well as many
other family members. Ron loved his country, and proudly served in the US Army and
Navy reserve. While working as a diesel mechanic, Ron raised his children teaching
them the foundations of honesty and hard work. Ron’s life long dream had been to
build a sailboat and sail the South Pacific. Ron and ___ fulfilled this dream during his
retirement. Ron will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. We love you
Dad. We want to extend our gratitude to the caring staff of the "Hospice of Arizona.

William Farris
Cotati - Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow in Santa Rosa for William Burns Farris, 83 year
old retired poultry rancher who died Monday in a Santa Rosa hospital.
Mr. Farris was born in Lower Lake and lived all of his life in the Redwood Empire. He resided in
Sonoma County for the past 14 years and last made his home at 503 W. Railroad ave.
His wife, the late Lila W. Farris, died in 1957.
Surviving him are his sons, a daughter, and five grandchildren.
Friends may call until noon tomorrow at the Chapel of the Chimes. Services will be held at the chapel
at 1:30 pm, followed by inturnment. Memorial contributions may be made to any boys home.
Red wood Chapel, Novato, is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Lila Farris Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow from the
Chapel of the Chimes for Mrs. Lila Winter Farris, a resident of Santa
Rosa, who died Sunday. She was 59. Mrs. Farris and her husband,
William B. Farris, moved to Santa Rosa two years ago. They operated
ranches in Hollister and San Jose. She lived at 789 Scenic Ave.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Redwood Chapel
Funeral Home in Novato.
