Rose Pace Campbell

Mrs. C. W. Kelley received word that her Aunt Rose Pace Campbell had passed away June 20th after a long illness at Paonia Colo. and was laid to rest in the Bethleham cemetary near Paonia. She was the last of eight children and the daughter of Elizabeth and C. W. "Cap" Pace.

She was born and raised on the farm now owned by Mrs. Billy Carmichael. She was born Dec. 4 1841 and passed away June 20, 1939.

She received her education at the Pace school now east of the John Ro___ farm but at that time was on the James Kelley farm west of the Code Miller house.

She attended Normal school in Clarinda at the age of 18 and was issued a certificate and taught two years at the home school. At the age of 29 she and the remainder of the family followed her father to Pitkin Colo. and there she taught another two years.

On July 28, 1883 she was married to Albert Brisben Campbell. To this union was born one son, Albert B. who lived in the same town and was a great comfort to her in her last illness. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was faithful in her belief to the end.

Rose was a sister of Edd, Frank and Young Pace of New Market and a sister of Mrs. Cap Reeves and Mrs. Dick Davison of New Market, _____[too blurred to read, I would think it would be Florence] and Charles Pace of Paonia Colo.
